Hello Kate,

Many thanks to you for another lovely workshop. I always enjoy them, and this time was especially good fun!
Isn’t it great to be messy and it doesn’t matter!
I came home today with 14 ‘experiments’ …..amazing!
I shall return to the Youtube demos at some point, with a better understanding of what to do, and with much practice I might even produce a really good pour! Thank you Shirley

Loosening up with Watercolours

A fantastic opportunity for those of you who want to loosen up, experiment, learn new skills and want  to absorb yourself for 2 days in a creative environment. Kate will be passing on tips and tricks to help you move away from convention and to experiment more with this versatile medium.Deemed to be one of Kate’s most popular courses because let’s face it, underneath it all we all like to have a bit of fun splattering paint about. Wildly pushing the boundaries of conventional watercolours this course isn’t for the faint-hearted or illustrative types.

Day 1– We will explore a wealth of different approaches and surfaces to inspire creativity on a new level. We will also be considering scale, composition and presentation.Initially we will work from ‘Life’ which helps with speed and spontaneity .

Day 2 – We will be looking at Landscapes and Seascapes -You will be encouraged to bring along your own personality, style and subject preferences to the second day or you can continue with themes from day 1.

Your aim for the end of the 2 days?
…less on the lines of finished paintings, more on the lines of a scrap book full of ideas ,studies and paintings in progress.
