Wild Winter Watercolours….5 places remaining

Saturday 12-13th March 2022

This improvised style of workshop is one of Kate’s most popular.

As a practicing professional artist Kate’s personal work is all about experimentation, impressionism, taking risks and wildly pushing the boundaries of conventional painting and she is happy to pass on these skills. This course isn’t suitable for illustrative types.

If you’re keen to

  • try a different approach to your work
  • to loosen up
  • experiment with new methods
  • absorb yourself for 2 days in a creative environment
  • challenge conventional watercolours

then this is for you!

Kate will be passing on ideas and tricks to help you move away from conventional layered watercolour techniques and to experiment more with this versatile medium.

We will be using our location as our starting point for subject matter as we are lucky enough to be surrounded by a truly an inspirational location…and yes, we will be painting snow, wind and rain!

Your aim for the end of the 2 days…less on the lines of finished paintings, more on the lines of a scrap book full of ideas and paintings in progress.

Feedback from one

of Kate’s workshop

“Just returned from Kate’s latest workshop which has been most inspirational leaving me wanting to paint with so many more different techniques and ideas. Can’t wait for the next one!!” – Roger

Very informative

“Kate’s weekend workshops are always very informative and effective, her informal communication ensures attendees can implement her lessons easily. I would highly recommend her workshops to any painter who wants to improve and expand their techniques’ – Mike

I learnt a lot

Just a note to say how much I enjoyed my two days with you on the workshop . We did all work hard , there wasn’t much chatter was there we were so engrossed! But the class folk were friendly, and how lucky they are these locals to have you on their doorstep for lessons!!
My thanks again for a very informative and constructive two sessions, I learnt a lot. Let’s hope I can remember it all!” – Jean

So many new techniques

I was looking to learn from an artist to whose work I could directly relate and I had spent a while searching online. I took advantage of a last minute cancellation opportunity on an acrylics course with Kate. Acrylics had never been my first choice of medium, in-fact I hadn’t used them until two weeks before the course. I didn’t master acrylics in two days, but I learnt a lot about how to improve my landscape painting.

I was exposed to so many new techniques, which I have been practicing and enjoying at home. The venue makes a great studio for course participants. I’m just disappointed that I am unable to attend the next course. – Keith
